Automated betting software has become quite popular over the last few years and I often get asked the question “is it worth having?

It’s an interesting question but not always easy to answer because many of the reasons for using automated betting software will depend on your personal circumstances and the type of betting you are doing.

If you are placing just one bet a day at any price and at any time then there certainly wouldn’t be much point in you using betting software. But if you are betting using a set criteria, then an automated software package such as the Grey Horse Bot (GHB) could help.

Let us look at some specific examples where automated betting software could help.

  1. You have to bet 60 seconds before the race between a certain odds range.
  2. You keep betting until you win or lose or have a monetary stops win/loss.
  3. You want to bet on all runners within a certain price range.
  4. You want to bet on every favourite as long as they are under 2.0
  5. You only want to bet if the market value is above (or below) a certain figure.
  6. You don’t want to bet if there are NR’s (non runners) or you don’t want to bet if the reduction factor of any runner is over 20%

The above is a small list of some of the reason where automated betting software like the Grey Horse Bot (GHB) could help because any of the criteria above can be handled easily under automation.

The beauty of betting software is that it is “set and forget”, you don’t have to be there and watch it, and you just start the software and then let it run and look to place the bet.

Let me give you one other example of what is possible with automated betting software.

You have a system that bets on second favourites in races where there are at the least 5 runner but at the most 12. You only bet on this runner if the combined odds of this runner and the favourite are 4.00 or more and the odds on the selected runner are over 3.00. You want to start betting 60 seconds before the start of the race but want to carry your bet in running, if you do not get a match before the “off”.

You want to use this criteria on every race of the day but you want to stop betting if:

  1. You lose 3 races consecutively.
  2. You lose 4 races over the betting session.
  3. You lose more than 25% of your bank.
  4. You win to races consecutively.
  5. You win 10% of your bank.

You also want to bet a certain stake depending on the odds of the runner.

And you certainly don’t want to bet where a significant runner (20% or more reduction) has been removed from the race.

I think you would agree that to run the above system manually would take up most of your day and you would have to take a lot of notes to make sure that you are keeping “score” with what was happening after each race.

It may seem a bit of a complicated system but I have seen far worse but for an automated betting piece of software like the Grey Horse Bot (GHB) this is no trouble at all.

With all its great features it can handle far more complex systems and with the advantage of be able to use a spreadsheet to control your stake it is a very versatile product.

So do I think automated betting software can save you time?

You bet I do!!!
