With the UK Season now well under way many people are looking for the best football betting system. My first passions remain horse racing and greyhounds but as regular readers will know I do also like a good football betting system.
I have to admit (shock, horror!) I’m not a fan of football and will rarely watch a game on TV. I think I’ve been to 3 matches in my entire life! That means when I look at a football betting system I don’t want to have to follow teams, analyse performance and look at team sheets etc. Of course there are many good sites where all this is done for you and in the Football Betting Guru guide I am just completing I use one such site in particular.
Of course as with any gambling the best football betting system will use some statistical data. Luckily I have many good sources for this. For example I can tell you that -
- Last Season Manchester United won 18 of their 19 Home games and drew the other
- In their last Season in the Premiership, Norwich didn’t win a single Away match
- The new boss at Chelsea led his last team to 27 wins from 30 matches – the other 3 being draws – last Season
Football Betting System Ideas
So how can we use stats like this in a football betting system? I can see many opportunities straight away! For example. lay Norwich at every away game and use a staking plan going to say 3 matches maximum with accumulating stakes. Pretty safe bets! Or how about back Man U in every home game in a similar way. In my Football Betting Guru guide I explain two methods for using ‘dead cert’ games like Man U at Home or Chelsea matches to return decent winnings. This is the problem of course – wins are easy to find but odds will be very low and you’ll have to stake say £50 just to win £10!
A good football betting system will ratchet your stakes to achieve a decent return. I use Betfair Multiples as one tool to achieve this and explain my personal strategy in Football Betting Guru. Some form of staking plan will be required for these matches.

In Play trading on Betfair is increasingly popular and many football betting system will use this. The classic is the ‘lay the draw’ and this was the first In Play trading system on Betfair I used. It’s something I’ve re-visited in recent months and have refined my approach to make it much more profitable.
I get contacted about new Betfair and betting systems on a daily basis and as you’ll see if you read my site it’s very rare one really captures my attention. There are so many Betfair scam systems launched every by people who don’t know the first thing about betting!

Some years ago I regularly used a system called Fancy Fillies and the premises of Beaten Females is similar as I will explain in this review. Fancy Fillies used an escalating stakes betting pattern which for me was the ultimate downfall and my bank was sunk by a poor run of results. The basis of the Beaten Females System is far more solid in my view and there is published evidence that it is one of those rare Betfair laying systems which delivers profit to level stakes.

The football season is about to kick off (!) again in the UK so I’m looking at football betting systems again. Elsewhere on the site you’ll see some of the systems I use but I also have some other ideas I’m testing.
I do find you need to let the season settle down for a few weeks before using or testing a football betting system. There’s a lot of great data out there we can access for free to enhance our football betting but I do find it hit and miss in those early weeks.

The classic football trading system is the ‘Lay the Draw’ and I’ve been testing this again over recent months. My experience was mixed and I tended to break even which was quite frustrating. A lot of it comes down to discipline – as with all betting of course! There are some matches where things don’t go the way you want and you have to be prepared to trade out with a loss.
Correct score betting is another market I’ve been dabbling in and I have some interesting ideas and conclusions. There are ways to use dutch betting techniques to profit from correct score betting and I’ll be looking at these in the new guide.

Up until the launch of Jon Burgess’s The Winning Approach I have to say I favoured Jason Franklin’s Ultimate Lay Betting as the best Betfair system for laying horses. I had an email asking me the question which is best today and it’s prompted this update to consider the question.

These statistical betting tools are so effective, even the bookies use them
Although I’ve moved into horse racing betting and football betting I constantly return to my old favouritre – greyhound racing betting.
There are many reasons for this. The sheer number of greyhound races daily gives us plenty of betting opportunties which I find appealing. The fact that there are only 6 runners is something else I like. If I am going to look at greyhound form and carry out some statistical analyisis there are less runners to look at than a horse race with 10+ or more!

Why its really possible to make money laying horses if you do it the right way (Value really is the key)
Although I’ve moved into greyhounds, football and other Betfair betting systems the horses remain one of my main sources of betting income. When newcomers ask me the how to make money on Betfair it’s laying horses I recommend.
Let me be clear – there are pitfalls and it’s not easy! I made some really stupid mistakes in my early years and paid the price – literally! It’s not just a case of picking an outsider and crossing your fingers.
Some sytems for laying horses on Betfair require a lot of research and data analysis and this puts many people off. There are no quick fixes though and some work is required if you want to profit from betting. Betfair betting bots have been around for a few years now and I have to admit I’ve tested, reviewed and then generally given up on them! In recent months the number of Betfair betting systems I’ve wanted to use and test means I’ve been forced to look again at ways to automate my betting. I’m so glad I did!

I hate to be negative but … the flood of new betting systems which are utter rubbish continues to frustrate me! Betfair football betting systems are of increasing popularity but most just don’t have a hope of making a profit.
I’m not going to ‘name and shame’ but I am going to describe one exact such system which is on sale for $47 at the moment. This so called winning football betting system goes like this -
1) Taking a match where Team A are playing Team B, look at how many goals Team A scored in their last match and the same for Team B
2) Place a correct score bet on Betfair based on the goals scored from (1)
That’s it! So for example if Team A scored 1 last time they played and Team B scored 0 the system suggests we place a correct score bet of 1-0. I have to be honest, I haven’t back tested to see how accurate this might be but to my mind there is absolutely no logic or sound basis for following this strategy. The team’s may be matched at completely different ability levels, different circumstances and dynamics apply and there’s no possible reason to suggest the match will run this way.
Personally I always start with a very sound logical basis for any Betfair betting system. My latest football system – Goals Guru – follows this approach.
In Goals Guru I use some statistical analysis over a number of recent matches to assess goal scoring potential. The data is all from one site and is free to access. I then use a simple mathematical formula which allows me to see the potential for a profitable bet in a specfic football betting market on Betfair. Finally, I cross check this by reference to one of the most accurate football prediction and statistics sites I know of.
Yes there’s a little work here but all the resources are free and the resulting bets are very consistent. In my Goals Guru guide I set out the exact steps and process and even a newcomer to football betting on Betfair could be placing bets on the day they download.
